Forever Family Day!
Happy Forever Family Day!! (I wanted to get this posted on Sunday but didn't get the chance.) The time has gone so fast! I look at these pictures from that day and can't believe that it has been one year! I think back to our first meeting with Nia. We were so excited to see her for the first time and to be able to meet her foster mother Mrs. Jeong. And, of course the day that we got her I was SO nervous!! I had no idea what to expect! But God is SO great! I trusted that because I knew that this was HIS plan, things would be ok, even if a little hard at times. I can't say enough about Mrs. Jeong and her family! They truly were an answer to pray. As soon as we started the process we began praying for our daughter, her birth parents and for whoever would be her foster family. Mrs. Jeong, her husband and their boys love Nia so much! We really hope that when Nia is a little older that we can all go back to Seoul and see them again. We really felt incredibly blessed in that we had such a smooth process and then to be able to travel with the Marchik and Cran
ey family, they will always be very dear friends! How fortunate we were to have each other to go through this experience with. Our love goes out to Jason, Katie and Paul and Rebecca, James and Cathy and Joseph!

Time Away With My Hubby! Mexico!!
What a lucky girl I am! Mark and I were able to get away last week and went to Mexico for five days. I owe my parents and sister and brother-in-law big time! They were so gracious to watch to watch the kids for us while we were away. We had so much fun just the two of us!

I thought it would be fun to go horse back riding. And it was, except that my horse kept taking off, here he was going out into the road and the guy had to come rescue me.

Our Water Park Weekend
Last weekend we had a fun time in Utica at a Lodge where there is an indoor waterpark and amusement park. We met our great friends the Dietz's there and we had a blast!
Sorry, I need to figure out how to turn the picture before loading it!
Alex and Grant LOVED the motorcycle games!
I was really surprised at the rides that the kids went on! This one went pretty fast!

Me and Jennell. Mark and Steve were going to go on a crazy ride and told us we should go. I don't think so!

But we didn't want to be shown up by the guys so we did it. It was actually alot of fun!

Here are the boys. Mark is looking at Steve like he is a little nervous.

Nia loved playing in the water! The only problem is that she doen't like anyone to hold on to her. She is little Ms. Independent!
Alex likes the water slides as long as somene would hold on to him. He is my cautious one.
And then there is Grant! He is hilarious! He went down the slide a million times! He never wanted to get out of the water. He is our little fish!
Lastly, one of the kids' favorite ride the luggage rack!

Potty Training
So, as far as the potty training, it is going. Alex isn't always going but I am working on it! He actually is doing pretty good. I did forgo the underwear for a while, I should probobly start that again. He has been doing pullups. He is to the point where I am not setting a timer and he'll usually run in and go on his own. He even did the #2 today completely on his own! Now that I was impressed with. Bad part was that he decided to dump it out of his potty into the big potty by himself. Nice of him to want to clean it up but I told him to let mommy do that part! That could be very messy!
In the picture below you can see Nia hanging out with Alex. They are such a cute pair! Alex always wants me to come and sit with him so I recruited Nia to be his support. She gives him books to read and talks with him like a good sister! If you can see on her right hand there is a red sock. She has discovered that she likes to put socks on her hands. She'll leave them on forever! She also likes to put clothes on over the clothes she is wearing. But, she will put the pants on her head and bloomers on her arms. She is so funny! They are very entertaining!
The funniest thing that has happened is that Alex has taken it upon himself to potty train Nia. No joke! The other day Alex came upstairs and said, "mommy, Nia is not poopy!" I thought, ok, that's nice and went back to what I was doing. Then upon coming downstairs I see Alex in the bathroom with Nia, her diaper is off and he is showing her and trying to get her to sit on his potty. This of course after she has pottied all over the floor. It was cute the first time, not so much the next couple times. I told Alex he is NOT allowed to take off Nia's diaper. They never tell you about this stuff in the parenting books!

Friday Night At The Lipic House
Potty Training Is Not For The Weak!
Yeah! Our first success! Thumbs up!
So, since Alex is three and diapers are costly, I decided that it was time for him to get the hang of the potty. It is day three. Ugh! Is there a service I can call to do this? So much poop and so little time! He is doing great with the number 1 of it all, it is the other that is proving to be difficult. I know he will get the hang of it, I just hope it is sooner rather than later!
