We Have Legals!!!

Great news! We have legals! Which means, our paperwork is moving along. For those of you not familiar with the crazy process, this means that our acceptance paperwork was been to Korea, and the papers that they make up (the legals) were sent back to our agency, Lifelink and now will be waiting to be approved by DCFS. After that they go to immigration, get approved, and then to the National Visa Center. Then, the National Visa Center makes a visa for Nia and the visa is sent to the embassy in Korea. Finally, a visa interview (I wonder how they interview a baby? :) is scheduled for Nia and shortly after we should receive our travel call. That is why it takes so long to get her here. It is dependent on many different people, several agencies and two countries! Let's hope that there are no bumps in the road. So many little things can arise but thankfully, so far, everything has gone smoothly. The wait to hear about approval from DCFS is approximately 4 to 6 weeks. It has been one week so I'll update when I hear something.

Bring the Snow Inside!

The snow was thick and the tempertures were freezing! Poor Alex didn't have anything to do. A friend of mine gave me a great idea, bring the snow in and let him play with it. He had so much fun! It kept him busy for quite a while and he got to play with the snow without the 30 minute bundle up.

Our Christmas Tree

Getting our Christmas tree is a fun annual tradition! This year there was a beautiful blanket of snow on the ground. We go to the same place every year and I of course, like to check out EVERY tree. Mark would be happy to pull into the parking lot and point at the first one we see and have them load it up! And you know I am taking pictures and getting video the entire time. The boys had fun bringing the tree in and decorating it. Alex managed to shatter a few ornaments before taking off to bed. Another tradition we started was to have popcorn and milkshakes for dinner before decorating. My mom and dad used to make popcorn and milkshakes every Sunday night. It was a great day!

Nia's Room

So we have been working on Nia's room and getting it ready. We are almost there. The walls are painted, the furniture and bedding are together, the new light fixture is up (a very cute mini chandelier) and a shelf we ordered is here. I even went as far as lining the shelves in her closet with some cute paper. And of course, her closet is full! So here are some pictures. The room is pretty small so it is hard to get a good picture but you'll get the idea. Sorry about that last picture, I have yet to figure out how to turn a picture.
